Sports Updates Term 1

Last year we changed swimming provision so that only Year 3 and 4 pupils have swimming lessons but do so for a longer period We are required to provide swimming lesson for KS 2 pupils in line with government requirements, unfortunately this is not funded. Many schools are able to walk to their local pools however we do incur additional costs with buses on top of paying for the pool . As we are so near to many open water areas we feel that it is important that all children do learn to swim and know that this is supported by parents. Year 3 and 4 swimming lessons not only allow pupils to become stronger swimmers but also provide a good opportunity for pupils to become more independent, changing and organising swimming kit and team building . Year 6 non-swimmers are offered the opportunity to learn. It is your choice as to whether you wish to take this up. Thank you for your support and understanding with this.
