Policy on Religious Education (RE)
Introduction
Our policy outlines the teaching and learning of RE. As a Church school we believe that RE plays a vital part in the overall education of our children. At Ann Edwards’s school we develop the children’s knowledge and understanding of the major world faiths. Children reflect on what it means to have a faith and to develop their own spiritual knowledge and understanding. The policy is based on Gloucestershire’s Guidelines for the teaching of RE. It has the full agreement of the governors who have approved it. The implementation of this policy is the responsibility of all teaching staff.
Aims
The overarching aim for RE in our school is to ensure that pupils learn from religions
as well about religions.
