Oak & Furrow Hedgehog Visit November 2017

During every Thursday assembly this year, Miss Harris has been sharing 'The Hodgeheg' book by Dick King-Smith. To bring the character to life, Miss Harris invited Henry the hedgehog from Oak and Furrows to come and visit the children in an assembly. Charles and Linda brought their prickly friend in and displayed a fascinating PowerPoint about all the animals they care for at their Wildlife Rescue Centre - please see below.

A week later, children from the SARA Garden after-school club, visited Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre (in Cricklade) to help out and see the animals up close and personal! The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and asked lots of questions about the care and attention the centre gives to the wildlife in Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties - see trip photos below.

Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre became a registered charity in 2006 and along with charity status came an increase in calls. As a result Oak and Furrows has had to expand and develop the centre in order to cope with demand. It is always in need of donations and gifts (like towels and cat/dog food) so if you're passing, please give generously. To raise money for this charity, we are selling Activity/Sticker Books from Oak and Furrows, please see the School Office if you would like to purchase these for a £1 each.
