What a great first session we had in Forest School despite the weather being rather wet! We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different areas on offer before getting stuck into our chosen activities. Den making was on everyone's list! We saw great team work in terms of deciding how to build the dens as well what resources we would. Adults were on hand to demonstrate how to use a pair of loppers safely to cut branches to use as camouflage.
We learnt how to use a steel and flint to create sparks. Once confidence we then used the steel and flint to try and light a piece of cotton wool. It took lots of perseverance but we were so proud when we set the cotton wool alight.
