What a great first afternoon we had exploring the Forest School and reaffirming our Forest School rules around the fire pit. We spent the first half of the session exploring, collaborating, team building, working cooperatively on a variety of self initiated activities from making dens to building working see-saws to play on. We then thought about our terms value of Service and how we had celebrated Remembrance as well as the upcoming charity event of Children in Need. We used the wealth of fallen autumn leaves to create images of poppies and Pudsey the bear to represent these two acts of Service.

Today we learnt how to tie a clove hitch knot which was rather tricky. We used the rhyme make a fish and a dish and put your fish on your dish to help use to create the loops we needed to make our knot. We also then learnt how to lash the ends of the sticks together using the ends of the twine. We worked really hard in our groups, showing great perseverance, to tie and lash together 3 sticks to create the frame for our wind chime.
