Christingle Service

What a lovely morning we had, with the whole school learning about different aspects of Christingle and creating our own using the generous donations from Tescos and The Children's Society.  Once we had made our Christingles we all gathered together in the hall to join Reverend McKenzie who led our service. Christingles were first introduced in 1747 as a way of explaining to young children the importance of Jesus. The symbol that we use today , an orange encircled by a red ribbon holding a candle and dried fruit symbolises the world, with God's love wrapping itself around the world and Jesus bringing light and hope to the world.
