POST: School Business Manager (Qualified)

GRADE: Scale I (pts 28-30) £24,964 – £26,822 pa pro rata

HOURS: Full Time - 37 hours per week

WEEKS: 42-52 weeks subject to negotiation.

VISITS TO SCHOOL: By appointment

CLOSING DATE: 9th February 9.00am



The Governors of Ann Edwards Primary School are seeking to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated individual who will be proactive in moving the school forward in terms of business management. You need to be a conscientious and effective Business Manager who will positively and actively contribute to whole school improvement through effective leadership, management and co-ordination of the administrative, financial and resource provisions in school. Across the school, there are currently 296 pupils. As a large primary school we have a busy environment where work is challenging and but also extremely rewarding. The successful candidate will receive a managed induction process into the post.


The person appointed will have high expectations, determination and ambition and strive to assist the school leadership team on its journey towards becoming a good and outstanding school.



The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Demonstrate excellent financial management skills including managing and setting a school budget
  • Have experience of Human Resources management including the recruitment of staff (Safer Recruitment Training required/can be offered and undertaken in school), managing sickness absence, contracts etc
  • A commitment to change and improvement
  • Show leadership qualities
  • Work at both strategic and operational level
  • Develop excellent relationships with pupils, staff, parents and Governors
  • Provide support to the Headteacher, SLT and Governors,
  • Lead and manage aspects of school Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures
  • Lead and manage Premises and Admin
