Term 4 The first week back was packed full of sport. It started of Tuesday 21st February with our cheerleading squad (Ann Edwards Bumble Bees) showcasing at Cheltenham Town Hall and performing for the first time in front of 350 parents. They were a credit to Ann Edwards on the night. This also coincided with Cross country at Kingshill and then on Friday at Farmors, where we had 77 children running in total across the 2 days. In addition to this we also attended the Westonbirt Prep cross country event, where we had 20 children running. The conditions were hard, running half of the course into a strong head wind. They again were great assets to Ann Edwards Primary School, showing true sportsmanship towards all at the event. Mr Thomas
I would like to add my thanks to Mrs Young and her amazing team for their hard work with the cheerleaders. With 44 pupils on stage it certainly was a very proud moment in a fantastic venue and atmosphere . These events are what memories are made of and also where pupils’ confidence and belief in themselves grows . Thank you to all, pupils and adults involved , you were amazing! Miss Sowden
Another busy term at Ann Edwards. Lots of different teams entered to a variety of events. We were fortunate enough to enter two teams into the netball competition. We played with a great deal of passion and energy and qualified for the network final. Many of the girls from this sport have now joined Cirencester Netball Club, which is fantastic news.
We also attended a girls’ football tournament at Cirencester Primary School. Mr Vaughan, was lucky enough to manage the team at this event. The team played with determination and came away as plate winners. An excellent result for a long winter of hard work.
The Swimming Gala was the last event that we attended this term. We finished just 1 point behind 1st place in this event with a great deal of pride shown by all who competed. Mr Thomas
On Monday we had our termly Inter House Sports event. It was a beautiful day and great to see all children, and staff participating. The children took part in a range of sporting challenges to gain points for their house .The overall winners were Atkyns with2079 who will have a non-uniform day on Friday 28th April to celebrate.
