Many of you will be aware that we have been very fortunate to have Mrs Kimeli over from Kenya on an exchange visit this September. Her visit strengthens our school's International links and our desire to move towards achieving an International Award through such links and understanding. Mrs Kimeli is a head teacher of a school in Kenya and visited with a group of fellow heads. throughout her stay she learnt a lot about the ways children learn in England and the wealth of resources and materials we have to enable us, alongside excellent teaching, to enable good foundations for our pupils. She shared her Kenyan lullabies when she visited classrooms. Mrs Chapman and Mr Thomas hope to bring back similar findings when they visits Mrs Kimeli's school Lembus Primary in October. Mrs Kimeli also visited inner city primary schools in Swindon to compare and contrast rural and urban schools. She has been immersed in and appreciated British values, pastimes and traditions, by visiting schools in Stroud; Gloucestershire Cathedral; Swindon Town Football Club's stadium and club tour; toured around London on an open top bus and boat ride, finishing with a competitive game of skittles. We will miss not having Mrs Kimeli around- we wish her a safe trip back to Kenya and thank her for her time, passion and teaching she shared with us.
